Originally meant for self-defense, research shows that Taekwondo not only benefits the young children with physical strength but it also teaches them about mental strength. Taekwondo allows children to channel their aggression through physical activity and control their aggressive behavior, strengthening their minds. Rather than just the physical aspect of Taekwondo being a “sport”, it truly enhances the children’s mental and emotional development.

Sport is not always about “winning at all costs” but it is meant to create a fun environment as they learn how to work together and gain self-respect, self-control, self-defense, self-esteem, focus, confidence and courtesy. We cannot overlook these characteristics as they begin to form at a very early age, before we can even begin to notice them.
