Our goal of developmentally appropriate teaching is to provide experiences that meet children’s needs and stimulate learning in all developmental areas; physical, social, emotional, and intellectual. All activities and interactions are designed to develop the child’s self-esteem and instill a positive attitude toward learning which is essential for building a strong foundation of early childhood years.
Our preschool curriculum functions like a stepping stone from home to school. Children at this age are very curious about the things around them. They have their own desire to learn through their own senses from the environment. They will be encouraged to explore and choose the activity they want to be engaged in. Based on this autonomy children are provided with various interactive and exploratory activities, guiding children’s sensory-motor, cognitive and social emotional growth and development.
Children will develop their talents and curiosity for learning with confidence as they achieve their age appropriate skill for each learning stage. They begin to interact with their peers and adults and develop their social and emotional skills. They can define the world around them to be safe and see themselves connected to other people and motivated by their positive inner feelings. This skill will be a strong foundation for success in children’s early education experience.
Our Pre-K Curriculum prepares for readiness of kindergarten and readiness of successful life. Pre-K class seeks to nurture children into a whole and to instill a sense of confidence and self-esteem through a vast variety programs. Our Pre-K curriculum incorporates our GSCP own developed curriculums, project learning approach, and Reggio Emilia learning approach, which have been specifically designed to meet the individual needs of each child.
Kindergartener should know how to read and write to express themselves. Reading development occurs at different ages for all children. Our kindergarten program has proved its excellence in reading program and teaching basic math skills for many years. All students will finish and master their beginning reading skills and will begin using reading as a tool. They master a skill of learning to read as well as ready to read with clear comprehension skills. We give the best reading instruction with systematic practice and reinforcement. We also teach by using the step-by step reading and writing tool which will give children confidence in their reading and writing.
Our afterschool program is more than just a homework helping service. The students get the materials and help they need in order to catch up to their academics. They will develop their reading & writing skills on a regular basis and we cannot overemphasize the importance of reading and writing. We not only help them with their academics but we also guide their behavior and focus, leading them to improve their self-esteem, self-control, and decision- making.
Our Summer Faith Academy is a uniquely designed enrichment program for the summer vacation to prepare the students for the new school year. It includes core skills, such as math, reading, writing, and discussion-based active learning. We also include art and crafts, games, and other fun activities for our students to enjoy the summer. Our program not only stresses the academic areas but also on our Christian faith for our students to continue learning about our God. The students will be able to learn how to study the Word of God along with applying His Words to their daily lives. Our Summer Faith Academy staff are all equipped to guide the students in their faith as well as in their academics. Learning takes place in various forms and designs. Our program will be an excellent way to bring out the positive outcomes for the students and their families during summer.
